This 5-day adventure blends High Atlas trekking with an unforgettable desert experience. Starting from Marrakech, you will explore Imlil Valley, ascend to panoramic passes, visit waterfalls, and discover traditional Berber villages. The journey continues through the winding Atlas roads and the Valley of Roses, culminating with a camel trek and overnight under the stars in the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Ideal for travelers seeking both cultural immersion and breathtaking landscapes.

ITINERARY

• 01 Marrakech → Imlil → Tizi M’zik → Tamsoult Waterfalls → Tizi Oussem

  After breakfast, depart Marrakech for Imlil (1h30 drive), passing Tahnout, Moulay Brahim, and Asni. Meet your guide and mule team, load your gear, and begin trekking up to Tizi M’zik (2500m), offering panoramic views of Imlil and Azzaden valleys. Lunch is enjoyed under the juniper trees. Afterward, descend to visit the region’s highest waterfalls, then continue down through juniper forests to Tizi Oussem (1850m), with a photo stop to capture memories of Berber culture. Trekking: 7 hours. Overnight in a Berber guesthouse.

• 02 Tizi Oussem → Id Aissa → Tizi Oudid → Mattat → Imlil

  Begin the trek descending along the valley to Id Aissa (1800m). Head east over Tizi Oudid Pass (2010m) for stunning views of Imlil, Azzaden Valleys, and mountainside villages. Continue past Mattat Village to reach Agersioual Village (1600m) for lunch under walnut trees by the river. In the afternoon, trek up the valley to the largest village in Imlil for overnight. Trekking: 5 hours.

• 03 Imlil Valley → Tizi n’Tichka → Dades

  Depart Imlil Valley, passing Asni, Moulay Brahim Gorges, and Tahnoaout, before ascending the winding Atlas roads to Tizi n’Tichka. Stop to admire the stark terrain and isolated Berber villages. Continue along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, stopping in Ouarzazate for lunch, then head to Kelaat Mgouna, the famous Valley of Roses, before reaching Dades for overnight.

• 04 Dades → Todgha Gorge → Erg Chebbi

  After breakfast, drive from Dades to Todgha Gorge, deep limestone canyons carved by rivers. Continue to Auberge Plais Du Dunes at Erg Chebbi, a sea of dunes up to 150m high. Enjoy mint tea and the stunning desert scenery. Ride camels to the desert camp, settle in, and enjoy dinner by the fire under the stars.

• 05 Merzouga → Marrakech

  Wake up to a spectacular sunrise over the dunes. Ride camels back to Merzouga hotel for breakfast, then begin the drive back to Marrakech with a stop at Tizi n’Tichka. Arrival in Marrakech by mid-afternoon.
